Creating Safer Schools
Every student deserves to feel safe in school, and I plan on achieving this by getting security cameras installed in common areas. This will eliminate lengthy and expensive investigations that end up going nowhere. I am also a supporter of establishing a dedicated school resource police officer to ensure the saftey of all students.
Increasing Academic Results
Students within the district struggle to meet academic goals. It's time to review our budget and set money aside for free tutoring programs. Offering students an opportunity to receive extra support at no cost to the student and their families.
Putting Parents In Control
It's time to give parents a voice. I plan on establishing advisory groups from each school that will provide feedback to the board on a monthly basis. Getting a real understanding of what is happening in our schools.
A Balanced Budget
It's no secret that San Ysidro School District has struggled with financial turmoil and corruption over the years. It's time to put an end to this by establishing policies that prevent reckless spending. Our district needs to look outside the box for funding sources leverging it's assets.
